I’m one person, have a limited supply of attention (for detail), and an even shorter supply of patience for bad programming (blame that on Jon).

I’m certainly enough of a software snob to say that WordPress is without a doubt superior to Blogger. I have more control over this blog, what I import or export, how I organize, and how I manage. It’s easier to maintain and allows proper html code without adding the extraneous clutter like FrontPage (and Blogger) did when I first learned I’m deathly allergic to it.

Being off the beaten path makes Everwild less likely to be included in the many satellite communities. It’s my observation that those who blog on Yahoo tend to stick with other members of Yahoo, and the same goes with Blogger, Typepad, LiveJournal, and even Myspace. Yana doesn’t visit Everwild, but she called last month to say she and Laurel had set up house on Facebook. I cringed, broke into hives, and hunted up my little tin hat. Those guys over there? Yeah, they sell your personal information to space aliens! (Note: While space aliens are debatable, please exercise caution in the amount of information you leave on Facebook; privacy issues, including data mining, are real problems.)

If you would like to keep up with the happenings around here, whether you’re in it for the cool blue unicorns or for news on Fibromyalgia, the simplest way to track this (or any other) blog is to use a news reader and subscribe to Everwild’s RSS feed. Then it comes to you.

Cake.

Since Jon introduced me to it early last year, I’ve used Google Reader to follow other blogs, news, and even classifieds. I’ve since discovered that, because Google owns Blogger, the reader incorporates my Blogger account’s list of “Blogs I’m Following.” Hey … bonus!

Hmmm, are those pancakes I smell?

So after several frustrating moments with Blogger software last night and some thought, I’ve determined I don’t have what it takes to maintain separate blogs for all the parts of who I am.
