It was MUCH easier to uphold that promise <em>before<\/em> they introduced the spanking new, stadium seating multiplex in C&#8217;burg, but I&#8217;ve resisted the temptation (even with the recent release of <em>The Dark Knight<\/em>) and stood by my vow.<\/p>\n<p>This has been a positive thing.  When Jon and I go out to see a movie, we see it at <a href=\"http:\/\/thelyric.com\/\">The Lyric Theatre<\/a>, which is a not-for-profit, single screen theater here in downtown Blacksburg.  In June we went to see <em>The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian<\/em>, and coming out of the theater afterward, I realized that going out to see a movie was no longer commonplace, no longer something I took for granted; it had become a <em>treat<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I was so excited to discover Wall-E at the Lyric this week.  I dragged Jon out with me this evening and we weren&#8217;t disappointed.  I&#8217;m not usually big on slap-stick or the key-stone cops type of humor, but it was funny and cute, and Wall-E himself was reminiscent of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0091949\/\">Short Circuit&#8217;s<\/a> Number 5 (later Johnny 5).  Wall-E&#8217;s cuteness factor is way higher, though, and it&#8217;s a movie I&#8217;ll eventually own.<\/p>\n<p>I had visit with a new doctor today and he&#8217;s actually going to try to <em>help<\/em> me overcome some of the troubles I&#8217;ve experienced lately.  I was dreading the search for a new doctor, but I left the office today feeling more hope than I have in the last ten years.<\/p>\n<p>I hope all of you have had a wonderful day.  Go for walks.  Sing.  Dance with your sweethearts.
